Central Congregational Church

This church building, which sits on the city square, represents the early Galesburg settlers who founded the city and their church at the same time in 1837.  This specific building was completed in 1898 at a cost of $75,000 and is one of the best examples of Richardsonian Romanesque in Illinois.  The structure has beautiful stain glass windows including a circular rose window over the triple arch entrance.  Tours of this building are available to the public by appointment.
