Annual event that hosts the largest gathering of Stearman bi-planes in the world and include fun flying, exhibits, seminars and fly-outs to various locations.  The event also includes numerous contests including: flour bombing, precision aerobatics, formation flying and short field take-off and spot landings.  Visitors can take a tram ride through the lines of parked bi-planes and talk to the pilots, view the planes and have a fun filled day.  The event concludes with an annual banquet on Saturday evening.

Fund Raiser for the Jack Larson Band Instruments for District 205 Students!!!!   Come enjoy the wonderful music by the Rootabaga Jammers and dance your feet off.  This is a fund raiser for the Jack Larson band instruments for District 205 students.  This is one of the many things Jack Larson was passionate about and this is your opportunity to help continue his legacy.

Annual regatta, held at Lake Storey Recreational Area, features competition among a wide variety of cardboard boats created to be attractive and unique as well as "seaworthy."  Fun and entertainment for the entire family!! 

The Galesburg Public Schools Foundation's Annual Duck Race has become an "end of summer rite" as hundreds of adults & children gather at Lake Storey each September to watch the cardboard boat regatta and then cheer on their winning duck.  The Duck Race usually starts around 3:00 PM.  Rain or shine - we are racing!!  Parking is free, souvenirs & food will be available.  For more information on the duck race call 309-342-9229

Galesburg Area Bird Club Bird Watching!!   Area bird fans are invited to join the Galesburg Area Bird Club for a birdwatching walk at Lake Storey, leaving from the Joe E. Anderson area promptly at 7:30 am.

The Black Earth Film Festival will feature films made by independent filmmakers.  The festival is held in Galesburg, IL each year at a variety of different venues.

Galesburg Tea Party Rally!!!  Galesburg's first Tea Party rally is free to the public and will promote the party's 3 main principles; fiscal management, limited government and free enterprise.  Enjoy patriotic music, singing of patriotic songs and the reciting of the pledge allegiance to the American flag.  Judge Harry Bulkeley is Master of Ceremonies and speakers include; Dick Johnston & Joe Mangieri.  Please bring your own lawn chairs and umbrellas.

Documentary: The Life of Birds, "The Mastery of Flight!!!  The Life of Birds is the definitive program on birds.  The series traverses the globe, covering 42 countries and examining over 300 different species of the world's largest animal group.  The 10-part series will be shown at the Galesburg Public Library once a month over 10 months from August 2010 to May 2011.
