Area birders are invited to the first meeting of the new Galesburg Area Bird Club.  Birders of all experience levels are welcome.  At the first meeting, we'll introduce ourselves and have refreshments; the next meeting will be in the field in February to birdwatch as a group.

Music Mornings Education Program - 10:00 am

"The Joy of Music", free educational program designed for preschool through 5th grade children.  It will be presented by Dean Petrie, Fine Arts Coordinator for District 205.  The program is co-sponsored by Knox Galesburg Symphony & Friends of the Galesburg Public Library and is open to the public.

Concert - 7:30 PM

The Galesburg Community Chorus guest concert featuring a return visit by the Millikin University Choir to delight audiences with their beautiful sound, impeccable muscianship and diverse programming.  It will be directed by nationally known conductor Dr. Brad Holmes, who has impressed audiences worldwide.  Guaranteed to be an inspirational experience.

Concert - 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM

Gordon Behrents Senior Center annual Fundraiser.  The Doug Gabriel Show is all about family entertainment.  Doug has been voted entertainer of the year, instrumentalist of the year and Male Vocalist of the year seven times.  Doug Gabriel has been performing in Branson for 23 years and most currently in his own production show which is in its 15th year.  Doug is a multi-talented entertainer, not only does he produce and direct his own show he is an accomplished songwriter, plays the guitar, the piano, the "Mufftar" and sings.  Completing the cast is Doug's wife of 25 years Cheryl who sings classcs by Patsy Cline, Anne Murray and Karen Carpenter, son Joshua has been playing drums since age 2, Jordan does a lot of the comedy for the show and Jasmine will steal your heart as she sings and dances.  A variety of music from Country to Gospel to Pop to Broadway, the Doug Gabriel Show has it all.  Tickets are available by calling 1-800-280-9757 or at the door the night of the concert.  All proceeds from the concert will benefit the Gordon Behrents Senior Center.  See you at the Show!!!

Casino Night & Silent Auction - 6:30 PM

The Galesburg Symphony Society will present its 9th annual Casino Night Gala & Silent Auction at its new location in Galesburg at the Soangetaha Country Club.  The Gala, which has become a popular social event, is the only fundraiser to benefit the award-winning Knox-Galesburg Symphony.  Each casino game is sponsored by an area business or professional.  The Gala features "official" casino games including craps, Texas Hold'em & Black Jack, an array of silent auction items to bid on, a 50/50 drawing and a cash bar.  From 7:00 - 9:00 PM delicious hot & cold hors d'oeuvres including roast beef & ham along with an International themed wine tasting have been added for 2010, plus patrons can kick up their heels to the Bob Clark Combo throughout the evening.  The silent auction will offer over 200 items from area businesses, casinos and organizations.  Items to be auctioned will consist of a wide spectrum of merchandise & services including casino packages, memorabilia, collectibles, jewelry, specialty items, auto services, household merchandise, apparel, landscaping, memberships, restaurant meals, sports activities, gift certificates and gift baskets to name a few.  Tickets at $25 include admission to the casino and auction, food, ten dollars ($10) in gambling chips & the entertainment.  For those looking for a unique gift idea, tickets are available now at Innkeepers, 80 N. Seminary Street in Galesburg or by calling KGS Office at 309-341-7268.  Those interested in attending are urged to purchase advance tickets as admission is limited due to capacity restrictions.  Must be 21 to attend.

Doll Club - 6:30 PM

The Warren County Doll Club invites area doll collectors to an open meeting at the Galesburg Public Library.  Doll lovers of all ages and fans of all types of dolls are welcome.  Bring a doll to show off if you like.  Refreshments will be served.

Knox College International Fair - Various times

Knox College presents their 29th Annual International Fair which will feature an international buffet lunch, educational displays, a student talent show and an evening concert by guest musical group, Funkadesi, a Chicago-based band whose music combines Asian, African, Latin and comtemporary funk.  11:00 am - 1:00 PM - International buffet lunch, with food from around the world prepared by students.  Oak Room, Seymour Union, tickets are $5 at the door.   1:00 - 3:00 PM Cultural and educational booths and displays presented by students, Ford Center for Fine Arts, FREE.  3;00 - 5:00 PM Parade of flags and student talent show, Kresge Hall, Ford Center for the Fine Arts, FREE.  7:00 PM Guest performers: Funkadesi, Oak Room, Seymour Union FREE
