The Carr House

The Carr House is a Galesburg landmark and is located in the historical District.  The entire South side of the house is available for your comfort, as well as a large living room, dining room & kitchen.  The Carr House has been recently renovated with loving attention, yet retains the defining details of this period home.  Three lovely rooms, with private baths.  Transportation available from the Amtrak station and around town to our many attractions.  Within six blocks of our downtown shopping area.

The imposing columns at the head of Chambers Street is a wonderful relic of Galesburg's early years. Local legend says that the basement of the house was used as a station on the "underground railroad," hiding runaway slaves on their way north to freedom. Each of the 3 guest rooms are unique in decoration and feature their own private bath.
